More than a year ago, PTNY helped form New Yorkers for Active Transportation (NY4AT) to achieve equitable funding for infrastructure that supports non‐motorized transportation in New York’s cities, villages, and towns. Now a national group with a similar policy focus – Safe Routes to Everywhere – has formed.
The Partnership for Active Transportation is a national network of nonprofit, for-profit and public-sector entities. The group’s policy platform, Safe Routes to Everywhere: Building Healthy Places for Healthy People Through Active Transportation is focused on increased federal funding for active transportation, prioritization of the creation of trails and walking and bicycling networks through the establishment of an Active Transportation Networks Investment Fund, and the integration of health impacts and performance metrics into transportation decisions. The partnership is seeking individuals and organizations to endorse its platform.
