On September 19, people who care about parks and open space are taking over parking spaces in cities around the world as part of PARK(ing) Day and turning them into temporary public parks and other spaces for people to enjoy.
This Friday, PTNY is taking over a parking space on Washington Avenue in front of the state Capitol in downtown Albany. We’ll convert the space into a temporary public campground complete with greenery, a tent, camping chairs, camp stove, and marshmallows. By creating a temporary refuge in the middle of the city, we’re reminding New Yorkers how important it is to have a place to relax, rejuvenate, and recreate.
If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, join us for s’mores and a game of corn hole!
