Volunteers Sought for I Love My Park Day

ilovemyparkdaylogo_web3linesFrom Montauk Point to Niagara Falls, 95 state parks and historic sites – the most ever – are looking for volunteers to help celebrate the fourth annual I Love My Park Day.

I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event, organized by Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) and local Friends groups, to celebrate and enhance New York’s parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park system and its needs.

New Yorkers love their parks, as demonstrated by the thousands of volunteers who are willing to help maintain the beauty of New York’s treasured state parks and historic sites. With visitation now at more than 62 million, Friends groups and volunteers are more important than ever to keep parks beautiful, clean, and welcoming for all to enjoy.

In 2014, 6,000 volunteers pitched in on more than 120 cleanup, improvement and beautification projects at 83 parks. Let’s make 2015 even bigger and better: find an event near you and register to volunteer today!
