Don’t put away your bike too early!  There will be lots of great riding left in the season after you’ve finished Cycle the Erie Canal in July.  Our friends from the Bicycle Coalition of Maine have invited Park & Trails New York members to ride their weeklong event, BikeMaine, from September 12-19, and are offering $50 off the registration price to encourage you to participate.*

This year’s 350-mile looped route begins in the southernmost tip of Maine and travels on quiet back roads past sandy beaches and inland lakes and into the western hills. There will be everything on this trip from lighthouses and a lobster feed to loons and perhaps even a moose. The terrain is moderately challenging with daily rides averaging 55 miles.  The ride includes 18 meals made with locally-sourced ingredients, optional afternoon activities and nightly entertainment.

For more information on BikeMaine, visit ride.bikemaine.org, email ride@bikemaine.org, or call the Bicycle Coalition of Maine at (207) 623-4511.
